Privacy Policy
Ripper keeps as little about you as it can. There are no ads, no tracking across other apps or websites, and nothing is sold.
Stays on your iPhone
Your library, diary, ratings, playlists, collections, listening history, app settings and profile photo live on your iPhone. They aren't sent to us unless you post them publicly (see below). Deleting the app deletes them; the Export Backup option in Settings gives you a copy first.
If you create an account
Accounts are optional. You only need one to post reviews, comment and follow friends. When you create one, we store:
- An account ID from Sign in with Apple. We don't ask Apple for your email address and never see your Apple ID password.
- Your profile: your name, handle and bio, and when you agreed to our terms.
- What you post: reviews, ratings attached to them, comments, replies, likes, who you follow and who you block. What others can see follows each review's setting: Public, Friends or Only Me.
- Reports you file: what you reported and why. Reports are anonymous: the person you report is never told who sent it.
We use this only to run Ripper: showing your posts, community scores, notifications and safety features.
Purchases
Ripper+ and Lifetime Ripper are bought through Apple. Apple tells the app which plan you have; we never see your payment details.
Services we use
- Supabase stores account data and posts on our behalf.
- Apple handles sign-in and purchases, and supplies podcast search and charts (the iTunes Search API).
- Podcast feeds and YouTube are loaded directly by your iPhone to show episodes, artwork, thumbnails and view counts. Like any website, those servers see your IP address when your iPhone asks them for something. Ripper doesn't send them anything about you.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your account data stays until you delete it. Settings ▸ Account ▸ Delete Account permanently deletes your account, profile, reviews, comments, likes and follows straight away. Content removed for breaking the rules may be kept briefly as a record of moderation.
Children
Ripper isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child under 13 has an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, export or delete your data. Most of it you can do yourself in the app; for anything else, email us.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app.
